This page has no server side at all. The table you paste is parsed by JavaScript inside your own browser, the chart is drawn on a canvas element on your machine, and the export file is assembled locally. Nothing is uploaded, stored or written to any log. You can disconnect from the network after the page has loaded and everything will still work — which is the simplest way to verify the claim yourself.

When it misleads you
- The calculation assumes accelerated playback is technically possible for the entire video without buffering pauses — in practice, the maximum available speed may be limited by the specific video player or platform.
- The formula doesn't account for time spent rewatching difficult moments during fast playback — at very high speeds (2.5×–3×), absorbing the material may require pauses or repeats that add to the actual watch time beyond the calculated figure.
- At speeds below 1× (slowed-down playback), the "time saved" result is negative — meaning extra time is actually spent compared to normal speed.
- The result is pure playback time, not accounting for pauses, rewinding, or time spent processing the material.
How it is calculated
The entered hours, minutes and seconds are added together into the video's total duration in seconds.
The chosen playback speed is taken from a preset (0.5×–3×) or entered manually when "custom speed" is selected.
The new duration is computed by dividing the original duration in seconds by the speed factor — for example, at 2× speed the time is halved.
The time saved is computed as the difference between the original and new durations and formatted as hours, minutes and seconds; at speeds below 1× this value becomes negative.

How much time will I save watching a one-hour lecture at 2× speed?
Exactly 30 minutes — at 2× speed the watch time is halved, so a one-hour lecture takes 30 minutes instead of an hour.
Can I enter a non-standard speed, like 1.8×?
Yes, select "custom speed" from the list and enter the value you need — the calculation works the same way as with the presets.
Does the calculator account for reduced comprehension at high speed?
No, this is a purely time-based calculation — how well you absorb material at a higher playback speed is individual and can't be captured by a formula.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No, the whole calculation runs in your browser.
