This calculation is for informational purposes only and does not replace advice from a qualified professional. Formulas and rates may not fit your exact situation — double-check the figures before making decisions.

How it is calculated

CPL per channel = channel spend ÷ channel leads — computed separately for each row in the table. Blended CPL = total spend ÷ total leads across all channels — not a simple average of the channels' CPLs, but a true weighted average based on the money actually spent.

Comparing CPL by channel in one table immediately shows which channels bring in cheaper leads than others — a direct basis for shifting budget toward the more efficient traffic sources.

The metric doesn't account for lead quality across channels — the channel with the lowest CPL isn't necessarily the most profitable if its leads convert to sales worse. For the full picture, cost per lead by channel should be checked alongside lead-to-sale conversion and the final CAC for each channel.
