How it is calculated

Leads required = sales plan ÷ (lead-to-sale conversion ÷ 100). This is the reverse of computing sales conversion: instead of finding conversion from known leads and sales, this finds the leads needed from a known conversion rate and a sales plan.

Lead-to-sale conversion usually depends a lot on lead qualification and the sales team's work — the calculation uses a single entered figure, so it's best taken from an actual comparable past period rather than as an expected or hoped-for number.

The resulting lead count can, in turn, be converted into required traffic with the separate traffic needed for a lead plan calculator — together the two give a full chain from traffic to the sales plan.
