How it is calculated

Fee amount = card payment turnover × acquiring rate ÷ 100. Reaches your account = turnover − fee amount. The bank or payment aggregator withholds the fee automatically when transferring money to the merchant, so what arrives is the amount net of this charge.

The acquiring rate usually isn't uniform across all sales — it can vary by card type, transaction size and acceptance channel (website, in-store terminal), so the effective average rate for a month can differ from the rate listed in the bank's price sheet.

When comparing banks and aggregators, look beyond the acquiring rate itself to fixed monthly fees for terminal service or online acquiring — at low turnover those can be a meaningful share of total costs.
