How it is calculated

Annual cost = (monthly service fee + fee per transaction × transactions per month) × 12. The calculation adds up the fixed and variable parts of account cost into a full annual figure comparable across different bank plans.

Bank pricing plans are often structured so a low service fee is offset by a higher per-transaction fee, and vice versa — with few monthly transactions, a plan with a low service fee is cheaper, while at high transaction volume, one with a low per-transaction fee wins out.

The calculation doesn't include one-off fees (account opening, card issuance) or specific charges (currency control, SMS alerts) — if your plan has them, add them separately to the annual cost for the full picture.
