How it is calculated

Cost = cash amount collected × percentage rate ÷ 100 + number of visits × fee per visit. Collection pricing usually combines a percentage of the amount (transport insurance, cash-counting staff) with a fixed fee for each visit by the armored vehicle and crew.

The optimal visit frequency depends on cash revenue volume and the till's cash storage limit: too-infrequent visits risk exceeding the limit and accumulating large sums on-site, too-frequent visits overpay the fixed part of the fee on small amounts per visit.

The calculation gives the direct cost of the collection service — it doesn't include alternative ways to reduce cash volume (e.g. encouraging cashless payments), which can cut this expense line more effectively than optimizing the visit schedule.
