Currency conversion with bank fee calculator

Enter the amount in the source currency, the bank's rate, and the market (exchange) rate at the same moment. The calculator works out what you get at the bank's rate and how much hidden cost the gap with the market rate represents.

This calculation is for informational purposes only and does not replace advice from a qualified professional. Formulas and rates may not fit your exact situation — double-check the figures before making decisions.

How it is calculated

You get at the bank's rate = amount × bank's rate. Hidden cost = amount × (market rate − bank's rate) — this gap is the real, often invisible bank margin, not shown as a separate line but baked into an unfavorable exchange rate.

The stated transfer fee (see the separate currency transfer fee calculator) is only part of the full cost of conversion: even at a zero stated fee, a bank can still profit purely from the gap between its rate and the market rate, and that gap is often larger than the direct fee.

To compare offers from different banks or services fairly, compare the final amount you'll actually receive (or pay) in the target currency, not just the stated fee percentage — the exchange rate can move the outcome more than the fee itself.
