How it is calculated
Total cost = turnover × acquiring rate ÷ 100 + number of transactions × gateway fee per transaction. Online acquiring often has two independent providers in one chain — the acquiring bank, which takes a percentage of turnover, and the payment gateway (aggregator), which can additionally charge a fixed fee for each processed transaction.
The fixed gateway fee inflates cost especially noticeably with a large number of small payments — a business with many transactions at a low average ticket can end up with a higher total cost than one with the same turnover but fewer, larger payments.
Some providers already fold the gateway fee into a single percentage with no separate fixed part — in that case use the separate acquiring fee calculator with just the percentage rate; this one is for a scheme with two distinct cost components.
