How it is calculated

Batch weight = unit weight × quantity, converted to kilograms. If a per-piece price is given, it takes priority for the cost; if only a per-kg price is given, cost is calculated from the batch weight instead.

Cost per piece = batch cost ÷ quantity — handy for comparing quotes from suppliers who price the same fastener differently, one per kg, another per piece.
