How it is calculated

Part-time salary = full-time salary × share of employment ÷ 100. The calculation assumes pay scales linearly with hours worked — a standard assumption for the base salary component of most roles.

Not every part of compensation necessarily scales the same way: fixed allowances, compensations (phone, commute) or some bonuses may stay unchanged regardless of hours — worth checking separately against your own pay structure rather than assuming everything scales proportionally.

This figure covers a regular rate for ongoing part-time employment — calculating pay for a month that was only partially worked due to leave or sick time on a full-time position is a different question with different logic.
