How it is calculated

Compensation = mileage × rate per kilometer + fixed monthly amount. The fixed part is an optional add-on some companies pay on top of the mileage rate — for example, for depreciation and having the car available regardless of how much it was actually driven that month.

The per-kilometer rate should realistically cover not just fuel but also wear, insurance and maintenance proportional to work use — calculating from fuel price alone usually understates the employee's real cost.

Some jurisdictions publish official compensation rates for tax purposes — amounts above them can be treated as additional taxable income for the employee. If this is being calculated for an actual payout, check the rate against your country's current rules.
