How it is calculated

Salary with coefficient = base salary × regional coefficient. Addition amount = salary with coefficient − base salary. The coefficient normally applies to actual earnings, not just the base salary — but this simplified calculation uses direct multiplication of the salary.

The regional coefficient's value is set centrally by region and isn't something an employer and employee negotiate — it's mandatory for work in the corresponding location. Since it depends on the specific region, it's an editable field here, not a built-in value.

The regional coefficient and a 'northern' allowance are different payments that can apply at the same time: the coefficient applies to the whole salary at once, while a northern allowance usually builds up gradually with tenure in the region — calculate that with a separate calculator.
