Computed under your country's rules over a reference period (often 12 months) — the calculator takes this figure as a ready input rather than deriving it itself

How it is calculated

Vacation pay = average daily earnings × number of vacation days. The multiplication is the same everywhere — the real complexity usually hides in how average daily earnings itself is computed: the reference period, what's included and excluded, is governed by a specific country's labor law and can change.

That's why the calculator doesn't try to derive average daily earnings from a salary or work schedule — that would only be correct for one jurisdiction and would go stale quickly. Take the average earnings figure from a payslip or compute it separately under the applicable rules.

The same formula is used for unused vacation compensation on termination — the only difference is plugging in the number of unused days instead of planned ones.
