How it is calculated
Cost to the employer = average daily earnings × tenure coefficient ÷ 100 × number of employer-paid days.
This is only part of the total sick pay — the remaining days (from day 4 onward) are paid directly to the employee by the Social Fund and don't count toward the company's costs. The full sick pay for the whole period can be computed in the sick pay by tenure calculator.
The amount the employer pays reduces taxable profit as a labor cost for accounting purposes — check the exact treatment with your accountant for your tax regime.
