How it is calculated
Vacancies per recruiter = open vacancies ÷ number of recruiters. A simple workload average that helps quickly gauge whether the hiring team is overloaded relative to the scale of open needs.
A comfortable load depends a lot on role complexity: 15 high-volume entry-level vacancies and 15 executive vacancies with a long search cycle are wildly different amounts of work, even if the load looks identical on paper.
The metric only counts vacancy volume, not how fast they get filled — for a real read on hiring efficiency, look at it alongside Time to Hire and Fill Rate: high load can explain both slow vacancy closure and a longer time to hire.
